On January 11, 2021, Roland Berger, a world-renowned international management consulting company, jointly released the latest “China’s New Energy Vehicle Value-Preservation Ranking List 2020” jointly with Better Technology. The one-year-old Weilai ES6 ranked first on the list with a value preservation rate of 73.7%, and the same one-year-old 2018 Weilai ES8 had a value retention rate of 63.6%, ranking third.
On August 20, 2020, Weilai released the BaaS battery rental service plan, which provides comprehensive services such as separation of car and electricity, battery rental, rechargeable, replaceable and upgradeable services, and systematically solves battery degradation, battery failure in upgrading, large fluctuation in vehicle value preservation and other problems that have always affected the popularization of electric vehicles. On January 3, 2021, NIO Certified, the official second-hand car of NIO, was officially launched, providing full-process services such as vehicle inspection, evaluation, acquisition and sales. It connected the circulation chain of all NIO models and provided the greatest protection to user’s interests.
Roland Berger pointed out in the report that in the support of national policies, the vehicle-electricity separation model would become an important operation mode innovation direction for new energy OEMs. Combined with the manufacturer’s full-process guarantee for power replacement, maintenance and insurance, it can effectively eliminate consumers’ concerns such as difficulties in charging and battery maintenance and expensive car purchase so as to gradually increase the residual value of new energy vehicles and promote the development of the entire new energy vehicle industry.
